Our Tempeh is traditionally made by tenderly cooking with our whole organic soya beans (BioGro certified), and adding a rhyzopus culture to them. This culture grows through the beans, binding them together to form a dense, tasty Tempeh.
Slice Tempeh into thin strips. Fry in vegetable oil on a medium to high heat for 2 minutes either side until golden brown, sprinkling with organic tamari while cooking. Tempeh is also excellent barbequed, grilled, baked, steamed or boiled. Use it to make tasty Beef Steak Tempeh in Brown Sauce and Tempeh Kebabs.
Tempeh is one of the few vegetarian sources of vitamin B12, is high in protein, and low in saturated fats, with absolutely no cholesterol. This makes Tempeh an easy way to greatly reduce your family’s weekly intake of saturated fats and cholesterol. Tempeh is an excellent source of protein.
